Ingredients

Makes 1 serving

  • 1/2 mango
  • 1 2/3 carrot juice
  • 1 2/3 fresh lemon juice
  • 1 2/3 mineral water
  • 2/3 maraschino cherry

Method

  1. Put the mango pieces in a blender, add the other ingredients, except the water. Blend until smooth.

  2. Fill a goblet with ice and pour blended mixture in until the glass until is 3/4 full.

  3. Add the water to dilute the mixture a little. Stir.

  4. Garnish with a slice of orange and a maraschino cherry.

  5. Serve with a straw.

Cook's notes

  • Use frozen mango chunks instead of ice to achieve a creamier, thicker texture without watering down the fruit flavors.
  • For a restaurant-style presentation, rim your serving glass with a mix of chili powder and lime zest.
  • If you prefer a thinner consistency, add a splash of sparkling water or coconut water to the blend.
  • Always use fresh, ripe fruit whenever possible to ensure the natural sweetness shines through.

Easy swaps

  • If you don't have fresh pineapple, you can use canned pineapple chunks in juice; just be sure to omit any extra sweeteners.
  • Swap lime for lemon if you prefer a sharper, more tart citrus profile.
  • Add a thumb of fresh ginger to the blender for an extra spicy, invigorating kick.
  • For a creamier mouthfeel, substitute a small portion of the pineapple with half a frozen banana.
