Frequently asked

Can I make this soup vegan?

Yes! Use plant-based margarine and substitute the cream with full-fat coconut milk or a vegan cream alternative.

What type of pumpkin works best?

Sugar pumpkins or pie pumpkins are ideal for their sweet, smooth texture. You can also use canned pumpkin puree for convenience.

How do I thicken the soup without flour?

Swap the flour with cornstarch (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water) or blend in a cooked potato.

Can I make this ahead for a party?

Absolutely. Prepare and blend the soup a day ahead, then reheat gently on the stove, adding the cream just before serving.

Is this soup gluten-free?

It can be made gluten-free by using a gluten-free all-purpose flour blend or cornstarch instead of regular flour.
