Almond Banana Shake
Based on a recipe from Carol Alt's cookbook, The Raw 50. She says in its introduction, ".... As Dr. Gonzalez notes in his foreword, germinated almonds may help protect against cancer. (They supposedly have estrogen blockers.) That is why I eat them and include them in every meal I can." Almond milk is a non-dairy milk made out of almonds; you can find ready-made almond milk in your grocer's natural foods section. I have made this with purchased almond milk; recipe #356213 is a delicious homemade almond milk! :)

Looking for the perfect plant-based pick-me-up? This creamy Almond Banana Shake is the ultimate vegan treat. Made with just a handful of wholesome ingredients, this quick and easy beverage offers a naturally sweet, tropical flavor profile that’s perfect for breakfast on the go or a refreshing afternoon snack.
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving
- 1 banana
- 1 ground cinnamon
Method
Add banana slices, almond milk, and cinnamon in a blender and blend until they reach a milk-shake-like consistency.
Pour into a glass and serve.
Cook's notes
- Use frozen banana slices instead of fresh to achieve a thicker, ice-cream-like consistency without needing extra ice.
- Add a dash of ground cinnamon or a drop of vanilla extract to enhance the natural sweetness.
- For an extra protein boost, stir in a spoonful of your favorite vegan protein powder or chia seeds.
Easy swaps
- Almond milk: Swap for oat milk for a creamier texture or soy milk for extra protein.
- Almond butter: Cashew butter or sunflower seed butter (for a nut-free option) work perfectly as a direct replacement.
- Sweetener: If your banana isn't quite ripe, add a teaspoon of maple syrup or a pitted Medjool date.
